Who is villain at end of avengers film

Be aware there are spoilers discussed. So while Kursed and Crossbones are in the MCU, it's unfair to compare their character-lite screentime with other major villains, and thus they've been left off the list.

At the time, Rourke was in the midst of what would ultimately be an incredibly brief resurgence thanks to his terrific performance in The Wrestler. But when he showed up for Iron Man 2 , he basically wore his same clothes off the street, demanded the character have a pet bird, and mumbled his way through the film.

That extends to its main villain Emil Blonsky Tim Roth , who in the film is basically just portrayed as a macho military dude who wants to get Hulk-sized ripped. He becomes Abomination because reasons, fights Hulk, and is beaten to a pulp. The end. He really only exists in the film to justify a big third act fist fight between Hulk and a formidable challenger, and as a character is as paper thin as they come.

Malekith is a mean Dark Elf who wants to rule the universe. He ranks low on this list by design. While Taskmaster is a fairly solid physical antagonist for Natasha Romanoff in Black Widow , the character's true identity is a twist you see coming a mile away, and even then we get very little payoff or resolution to who's really under the mask.

So in the end, Taskmaster serves as a secondary villain in the film, purely there to drive action sequences. Taskmaster is fine.

He has no superpowers or plans to gain superpowers. It's a little unfair to even include Ghost on this list, because Hannah John-Kamen 's character is more of an antagonist than a true villain. But she is indeed the main "baddie" of Ant-Man and the Wasp , and while she gets some refreshing moral complexity, it still feels a bit like John-Kamen's talents were underutilized here.

However, the prospect of Thor galivanting around the cosmos with the Guardians of the Galaxy is certainly a fun one. Thor: Ragnarok fed off the colorful, comedic energy of the Guardians movies, and Chris Hemsworth has proven himself a natural comedic presence, with fun timing and chemistry with Chris Pratt. The prospect of Valkyrie running the show in New Asgard should leave fans hopeful for a larger role for Tessa Thompson in future Marvel movies, as well. But the bigger problem for the Guardians is Gamora.

The Gamora we all knew from the first two Guardians movies most certainly died in Infinity War , leaving us with the Gamora of five years ago or, well, the Gamora of an alternate timeline from five years ago who never had these experiences with the Guardians. But the ending of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Who knows? We wrote much more about what happened to Gamora in Endgame right here.

In any case, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. Make no mistake, Sam Wilson is your next Captain America. Steve Rogers never got a say in either of those two characters getting the shield. John Walker was appointed by the US Government after Steve went rogue as he is known to do from time to time , and Bucky only put on the red, white, and blue while Steve was dead he got better.

And with good reason. A Young Avengers TV show or film looks increasingly likely. Kate and Yelena are also two prime candidates for a Young Avengers team. Several of the new Marvel shows and movies are introducing a cohort of young heroes who, at various times in the comic books, have joined forces to create their own crimefighting squad.

Marvel and Iron Heart , two series centered on young women superheroes. Meanwhile, the MCU is set to debut several new heroes in its upcoming films. Old favorites will return too. And a Black Panther sequel titled Wakanda Forever that will focus on the many characters who made up the ensemble of that first film is also beginning production.
